Portland Baroque Orchestra is the nation’s fourth largest professional period instrument orchestra and known for its vibrant intimate performances of the greatest music of the 18th century with international guest artists performing alongside Portland musicians. Founded initially a local musicians’ collective, PBO celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2008-2009 and its 14th under the direction of internationally renowned baroque violinist Monica Huggett. PBO’s recordings of works of Vivaldi, Bach and Mozart receive international media attention. Alongside its regular October to May season of Portland performances, PBO will perform with Portland Opera, the Oregon Bach Festival, and appear on stages throughout the state of Oregon during its 25th Anniversary season.
